To all the family of Jack Patterson.
Many wonderful memories of Jack Patterson flow over me. Our family (the Morton family) sat several rows behind the Patterson family at Delta Tabernacle. Jack's love for his wife, Barbara, and his family was clearly demonstrated weekly. I loved it when he led the worship time. I loved it when the male chorus sang. Janie was in my Sunday School class at one point; the teachers were all expected to visit the families of their students. I remember that wonderful blessing as I did this. Jack and Barb's love for God and for each other and for their family shone out to each of us and made our lives better. Death is always a time of grieving. But at this time and for this person, it is a time of celebration for a life well lived. What a privilege to have known Jack.

To Donna, Janey and family. We extend the sympathies of our Midland Alliance church family to you on the passing of your father Jack. These past few years that he attended our church, I always enjoyed seeing his beaming face on a Sunday morning. My custom is to head to the front doors immediately following the service, in order to greet as many attenders as possible as they leave. It was a weekly highlight to see Jack make his way through the foyer to the door, typically accompanied by his daughter Donna. His well coordinated outfits put most of us to shame. I would reach a hand out to him and say, "Glad to see you today, Jack." His firm handshake and encouraging response - "Appreciate the good word" - were always a blessing to me. I will miss him.
We pray that God will continue to bring comfort to your family as you celebrate a life well lived.
Blessings,
Rev. Chris Lewis & MAC Family

We have such wonderful memories of your dad. He was my first boss after high school and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity he gave me.What a joy to work at the famous Patterson's Furniture on Ottawa St.N. I remember a ski trip to Kissing Bridge with the young people and of course his song leading at Delta. Whenever I hear "O Boundless Salvation" I think of Jack. What a joy to think of he and Barb being reunited in Heaven. They were a great example of what a Christian marriage should look like. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. God bless. Bob and Judie Birnie

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mr Jack Patterson. My sincere sympathies to the Patterson family. Jack was instrumental in forming the golden years at Delta Tabernacle in a quiet, "all-in", methodical manner. He was our worship leader for many years. As leader of the Delta male chorus, and a longstanding leader in our community he pushed the bar in an upward direction. One could hear that his approach with the mens chorus was an offering to his God and he made those men sing! Their selections and blend were excellent! He loved his wife. I still have a visual of he and Barb skating in-step and arm-in-arm at the Saturday family skating events. I have fond memories of him humming or "trumpeting" a song that was dancing in his head. Thank you Mr Patterson for showing us a steady, kind, confident faith. Thank you for the gift you were to our church community and as a sterling member of the Hamilton business community. Thank you for a life well lived. God bless the legacy you leave here! David Laurie, Calgary, Alberta

More than just family friends, Aunt Barb and Uncle Jack always had their doors open to our family. From skating on the ice rink on Erindale to their trailer at Glen Rocks to Saturday night hockey games on Woodside. St Pete's Beach in Florida was introduced by them to our family in the 60's. Many pictures and vacations with them over the years - especially for my Mom and Dad when they all retired. And then of course Jacks signature "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus" in Junior High Sunday School. I can still picture him leading "O Boundless Salvation" at Delta Tabernacle. He and Barb will surely be missed.

I have fond memories of Mr. Patterson from my two summers at Glen Rocks (67 & 68). He was a very nice man and actually managed to get me to sing a few notes. I am pleased to learn that he had such a long life.

As Youth Sponsors we spent many enjoyable and profitable times with the youth at the Patterson home. Jack and Barb were always the perfect hosts.
Music was a passion for Jack as he proudly led our Male Chorus for many years at Delta Tabernacle..... and he facilitated our singing at Glen Rocks and several other churches in the district.
Jack was a valued member of “The Church Advancement Committee” and contributed many suggestions that were incorporated into the present sanctuary at Paramount Drive Alliance Church. This committee was charged with enabling the transition from the old Delta Tabernacle building to a new structure on Paramount Drive. That involved many hours of dedicated commitment to the task. He also was involved in the actual building process.
Jack was a man of honour, integrity and compassion... he has left a great Christian legacy.

Jack and Barb Patterson are part of many treasured memories from my teenage and young adult years. They were dear friends of my parents. Their home was a favorite gathering place for the youth group. Although Jack was not a career pastor, he had a pastor’s heart. His welcoming smile, his tender heart, and love for music that honored Jesus influenced my life as a young person. I remember him singing a duet with my dad at Glen Rocks Bible Conference ... “ Little is Much When God is in it.” His was a life that pointed to Jesus.
