Obituary of Darlene Grace Giddy

GIDDY, Darlene Grace Born March 12, 1937 in Stratford to Morris and Edna Dow. Passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of the late Glenn Giddy (2012), and proud mother to son Glenn (2012). Darlene is survived by son Darren Bartlett. Darlene was an adored sister to Lyle Dow (the late Geraldine), the late Ross Dow (Jean), the late Vera and Mervin Levey, Lois Arnold (the late Stan), the late Dennis Dow, Lorraine and the late Joe LaRocca, the late Kenny Dow, and Sharon Davies (Bob). Darlene will also be missed by mother-in-law Mildred Giddy (the late Edward Giddy), along with in-laws Dale and Ron Newton, and David Giddy (Kitty). Darlene was an aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will sadly be missed by many family and friends. Darlene was a long-time employee for the Canadian Government Employment Insurance Department. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, September 24 from 9-11 a.m., with a service celebrating Darlene’s life in the Funeral Home Chapel immediately following at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
