Obituary of Rosalie Evelyn Gerry

GERRY, Rosalie Evelyn Dearly loved by her family, passed away quietly on September 13, 2009 at Idlewyld Manor just short of her 90th Birthday. Predeceased by her husband Harold Gerry in 1984 and loving partner James Lennie in 2008. Rose was born and lived in Plymouth, England and came to live in Canada in 1975 to be with her daughters. Thanks to her personal care worker, Kathy Adams, for her years of loving care and friendship. Also, thanks to all the staff on Orchard View at Idlewyld Manor for their love and support for Rosalie and also for her family. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Wendy (Short) and Jackie Pitts (Ray) and her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Rose was a member of the Stoney Creek Legion Branch 622 and served on the Women’s Auxiliary for many years. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. “Only Goodnight”
