WALKER, Shirley Anne

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Shirley Anne Walker on Saturday, October 5th in her 76th year. Cherished friend, lover, soulmate for 57 years to husband Jim. Loving and adoring mother to Jimmy and partner Kelly, and Shelley Sinclair and husband Rob. Loving grandmother to Jacob, Michael (Samantha), Lucas (Allie), Becky and Chloe, and brother to Dennis Slade. She will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and large circle of lifelong friends, especially her euchre buddies. Shirley had many talents including crafting and sewing, and her handwriting was spectacular. Her and Jim have had a passion for travelling and have seen many parts of the world. She lived life with a sense of humour, a positive attitude, kindness and love to everyone she met.  In Shirley’s words: “Burn what is left of me and scatter my ashes to the wind for the flowers to grow and nourish Jim’s bees. To remember me, do it with a good deed to someone who needs you. If you do, I will live forever. I had a good life. I have laughed, cried, loved, been loved, and enjoyed the company of many interesting people.” Sincere thank you to the Good Samaritans, EMS and West Lincoln Memorial Hospital ER staff. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. Donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House where Shirley volunteered generously for over 25 years or to a charity of your choice.  

Although she is gone, she will always be in our hearts forever.
