Obituary of William James Geekie

GEEKIE, William James Peacefully at home, with his family at his side, On Monday, November 28, 2011, Jim passed away in his 73rd year. Childhood sweetheart and best friend to his wife Peggy of 48 years. Loving and proud father of Brian (Ann) and Christine (David). Adored grandpa of Jessica, Doug, Lily, Owen, Graham and Xara. Cherished brother-in-law, uncle and a valued friend to many. Jim attended Saltfleet High School and was a founding member of Stoney Creek Hockey. He was also a coach and past president of Dixie Hockey in Mississauga. Retired from Brewers Retail after 43 dedicated years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the retiree lifestyle and travelling with Peggy. He possessed a wonderful dry sense of humour and never left you wondering where he stood on an issue. Special thanks to Dr. C. Kouroukis and Terri-Lynn at the Juravinski Cancer Centre. Thanks also to CCAC and all of its branches for their assistance, support and gentle care of Jim in his last days. Thank you to Dr. Allen Greenspoon, neighbour and friend for your honesty and the house call. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
