Jessie Costley

Obituary of Jessie Elizabeth Costley

COSTLEY, Jessie Elizabeth

October 5, 1934 to September 3, 2019

She would call you Honey, so she did not have to remember your name. She was thankful for the time she got to spend with you, and would always say “thank you Honey”. Sadly, she has moved gently onto the heavens to be with her mom and dad, whom she missed so much that she would talk about them to everyone who would listen. Jessie is the daughter of the late William and Marion (Reyburn) Costley.

Jessie lost her only sibling, William (Bill) Costley in January 2018. She then lost her sister-in-law, Joyce Costley, on June 25, 2019. After losing her sister and best friend, with a broken heart, Jessie lost her spirit and the desire to fight for life. Jessie will be sadly missed by her 5 nephews and her step-niece: Robert (Karen), Paul, Donald (Linda), Allen (Jean), Christopher (Roxanne) and Glenna Leclair (late David Gordon). Jessie was an olive packer for years, and was really good at making sure the pimento was facing out. Jessie spent many years volunteering with Community Living. Jessie resided at the St. Francis Lodge East in Hamilton, prior to moving to Ridgeview Long Term Care, Retirement Home in Stoney Creek. A private family visitation and cremation has already taken place. A private interment and memorial will happen at a later date. Jessie loved dogs, so a donation can be made in Jessie’s name with a dog rescue.

Jesus Loves Even Me (song)

I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me.

Jesus Loves Me (song)

Jesus loves me still today,

Walking with me on my way,

Wanting as a friend to give,

Light and love to all who live.

Jesus loves me! He who died,

Heaven’s gate to open wide;

He will wash away my sin,

Let His little child come in.

Refrain:

Yes, Jesus Loves me!

Yes, Jesus Loves me!

Yes, Jesus Loves me!

The Bible tells me so.
