Obituary of Halina Szczawinski

SZCZAWINSKI, Halina

Passed away suddenly but peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on August 29, 2019 in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husbands Bronislaw and Theodore. Left to honour her memory are her children Alicia (William) and Lori (Robert). Blessed to have had “Babcia” in their lives for such a long time are her grandchildren Heather, Michael, Andrew, Greg and Natalie. She was also a Pra Babcia to five great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Anna Aniol. A stroke in 2010 resulted in a move to Regina Gardens where Mom enjoyed many activities and the wonderful atmosphere in this long-term care facility. Special thanks go to Dr. Chan, the nursing staff, PSW’s and more recently Derek, who helped mom maintain her dignity and independence to the fullest extent possible, and whose kindness, affection and compassion made Mom feel at home and very well cared for. Mom, we love you and admire your strength and continuous positive attitude despite the many hardships you endured during your life. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord Parish (Pottruff Rd. and Nash Rd.) on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 9 a.m. Private family burial will follow.
