I was Dianne nurse and let me tell you she left a mark on my soul. I listened to her life story and she listened to mine. I had
Some struggles and she understood and had the biggest heart. What a beautiful soul. I will miss her terribly even tho I didn’t know her much. Dianne I just want you to know that I did it and I am free now. Rest In Peace Angel.

To Susan, Kat, and family members.
I send my deepest sympathy for the passing of their beloved Dianne.
I will always remember her wonderful soul which shone so brightly in that beautiful voice. She was a wonderful inspiration to all who knew and heard her.
May she rest in peace--gone but not forgotten.

I am sorry Dianne has left us. During her teaching career she spent some time at Churchill Secondary School. Her lovely smile and gentle nature are memorable. I remember Dianne working with a particularly challenging class of students who just could not seem to get that grade 9 English credit. One boy had pretty much given up on the notion of ever gaining that credit, yet Dianne was able to reach him (not without resistance!) and yes, he finally got that credit. He told me he respected Ms. Marshall and knew that she respected him too. Dianne will be missed.

Dianne was my friend the moment I walked into McMaster Divinity School and our eyes locked. We knew we were kindred spirits. Against all odds we were there to pursue our calling and destiny; we were there despite limited incomes, kids, and opinions. Dianne was my sister! Her strong will, unconditional love, ability to identify with "the other", keen intellect, and integrity, helped make my experience at Mac something I will forever cherish! As years passed we worked hard to try to connect in person at least once a year. Why it seemed like Scarborough and Hamilton where two different countries, I'll never know but we found this funny and built a new kind of relationship where it didn't matter if we saw each other once a year or once every 5 years. I am so sad she's gone from this Earth. I am so broken that I wasn't there to hold her hands and cheer her on. However, without a shadow of a doubt I know that she's in the arms of her beloved Savior and we will meet again. Sleep well my sister! Your struggles are over. Receive your reward!

Dear Susan, Brian and families, l am shocked and heartbroken to hear of Dianne's passing. I have many wonderful memories of growing up across the street from the Marshall's on Balsam Street. Happy times, dinners and especially Christmas Eve with a kind and caring family that were all very special to each of us in the Stanidis family. Dianne was happy to share all her new albums (LPs) and toys, was always kind and a good friend growing up. We went through elementary school, high school and McMaster together, walked to church together, but our lives drifted apart. We crossed paths watching her dear Spenser playing hockey. Dianne l hope you are sitting with Spenser now. May you rest in peace knowing that all those you touched in your life loved you and will miss you. Your friend, Ann (Annie)

Diane was always a feisty delight; it's so sad to see her go, but a consolation that she is with the Lord.

Dear Mrs Marshall and Brian. I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Dianne's passing. I taught Dianne math in my first year of teaching at Scott Park (I am sure you will remember our parent interviews) and she is the only student in my 31 year teaching career that I taught for 4 straight years. I was very pleased to meet up with her again at Barton and to find out that she had entered into the teaching profession. She was very excited about teaching and I am glad to see she had a successful teaching career. Again I am very sorry for your loss. Rob Johnstone

Dianne was my dear friend and colleague. We taught together at DVSS. We spent many preps together working in the staff room side by side on computers sharing good, bad and ugly teaching experiences, talking about family and life and laughing together.
Dianne, I will miss you. Your sense of humour and laughter was refreshing. I feel blessed that I had you in my life as a friend even for a short time.
Thank you for being my friend. I will never forget you.

Dianne was always ready for a friendly conversation and quick to laugh. After years working together at the Mighty Barton, we both moved to Churchill. As newbies we had a long chat at least once a week and laughed with each other as we shared our experiences. I’ll always be able to hear her laughter.

Dianne Marshall was a true friend. Each day she would stop by the door of my classroom or I hers. We shared many stories and much laughter together. She was my rock when things got tough and I can only hope I was the same for her.
I already miss you greatly my love, more than mere words could possibly express. Your smile was utterly beautiful, your laughter infectious, and your heart golden. It was an honour to have shared so many wonderful moments of utter joy with you but even more deeply honoured that you saw fit to confide and entrust those more difficult ones as well. Your spirit will remain in my heart forever. I wish peace for you now, peace and some much earned rest. Ciao Bella. Go be among the stars and moon and join in the songs of the nightingales with your beautiful voice where you will sing among the angels (in legendary opera style, of course). You have my forever love. Thank you for being my friend just when I needed one most.
