He is survived by his four siblings, Ria (nee-Stam) Heeringa (Jerry), Eric (Arie) Stam, Martha (nee-Stam) Dunham (Bob) and Jacob Theo (Ted) Stam (Betty). John is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and in the Netherlands.  John was a Carpenter with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America - Local 18 for over 50 years. He loved his home and was an avid gardener. Thanks to the nurses, doctors and administration staff on the E2 floor at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton for the level of care and compassion that they showed him. Friends will be received at the Donald V.
