Obituary of Helen Paul

PAUL, Helen (Stepnik)

Peacefully, at the Village of Wentworth Heights, Hamilton on Thursday, June 27, 2019, in her 85th year. Beloved wife for 52 years of the late Ted Paul. Dear mother of Teresa (Ian) of Saskatoon, Doug (Ann) of Stoney Creek, Kathleen of Innisfil and Christine of France. Lovingly remembered by her 6 grandchildren; Ted, Lauren, Ian, Paige, Ava and Rose. Will be missed by many life-long friends, special nieces Pat and Linda and many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Stella Byke. Helen graduated in 1956 from the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. She was an active member of the CWL since 1954 and was a 30 year volunteer for the Good Shepherd. Helen loved to entertain, travel, dance, garden, play poker and slots and was an amazing cook. Special thanks to a dear friend and care-giver Carla and all the wonderful staff at the Village of Wentworth Heights for their compassion and care. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, and are encouraged to wear yellow as a tribute to Helen, on  Friday, June 28, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 304 Hwy. 8, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10 a.m. Following the Mass there will be a private family entombment. For everyone else who loved her, there will be a Celebration of Life at Doug and Ann’s after the Mass. Notes of sympathy and condolences may be sent to www.donaldvbrown.ca.
