Obituary of Mary Eva Gallant

GALLANT, Mary Eva (nee Poirier) Peacefully at McNally House, Grimsby, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, with family and friends by her side on Saturday, October 24, 2009 in her 63rd year. Loving daughter of Melvina Poirier (the late Graham Bell). Beloved wife of John Gallant. Cherished mother of Mike, Kim (Jeff) Simms and Dione Gallant. Also loved by Samantha, Brandon Gallant and Cameron Simms. Dear sister of Dianne (Harvey) McIntyre, Eddie (Sandy) Poirier, Marie Poirier, Stanley (Diane) Poirier, Florence (Pasquale) Cumbo, step-sister Marilyn Bell, the late Linda Perry and sister-in-law Sue Poirier. Will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Precious niece of Eva and the late Frank MacDonald. Eva leaves behind many friends, especially Maureen and Jerry (Butch) Winchester. The family would like to thank Dr. Ellis at the Cancer Clinic and the staff and volunteers of McNally House. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery.
