To the Besseling family, Sincere condolences on the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. He was such a visible member of Assumption Parish. We are so grateful for his and your Mom's support during the loss of my Dad and sister last year and to think that your Mom played such a huge role in attending my Mom's funeral and honouring her with CWL sisters just a day before your Dad's passing touches our hearts very much indeed. May the spirit of community and connectedness that your parents nurtured live on in all of you. It makes a difference in so many peoples' lives. If you are interested in such things, your Dad passed on my own Dad's (Jim Elliott) birthday. He would have been 81. It seems silly, but I sometimes note these trivial things and hold them close to my heart. It's just another small way to know we are all connected. We have known Carl for close to five years since moving to Binbrook.. We'll miss Carl on his scooter with a beer in hand well before noontime, always proud of his Sudoko time, having a good laugh at our jokes, showing us pictures of his younger days and lastly, looking a Zoe with much love in his heart. Dear Jean, Rob, Eric, Leanne & Besseling Family: Our heartfelt sympathy is deep in writing of the passing of Carl. You all know how much your dad meant to me as a young lad (Afro hippie) when I started working for him & Phil in 1974. That adds up to 45 years. Carl was really like a father figure to me and I can honestly say we raised our family with the same respect, morals and values he portrayed. He's left me with many very fond memories which always can get us laughing, non of which will be soon forgotten. Rest in peace Carl. You have no idea what an inspiration you were to me and my family.
