My condolences for the loss of your dear father. My father, Garnet Pottruff, always spoke so highly of Don as a musician, but more importantly as a person. I could always look forward to your father calling me in early January every year just to make sure that I hadn't forgotten to send him his real estate calendar. I was thinking it was odd that he hadn't called this year but now I suspect he maybe wasn't well. Please accept my sincere sympathies at this difficult time. Kindly, Jim Pottruff

I knew Donald from knowing Beth. He and I liked Bluegrass and Country Music Ho-downs. I heard at least one of his songs, and enjoyed listening to Beth's description of his music. At one time he would send me lots of forwards on email, so many, that would be all I had. :) I always hoped to come up there to see him and everybody. I am a long distant admirer, and sad to have one less person to jam with, even in my imagination. I am praying for his family and all! God's Blessings to You on these days of memories and family. My condolences to your family... Don, you will always be remembered for being such a great guy! I'll never forget the friendship you had with my mom, your amazing sense of humour and love of bluegrass music, not to mention the time you covered for me when we broke the coffee table & statue wrestling when I was just a young kid. The very thought of you makes me smile. I appreciate all the things you did for us. The many friends you had in life says a lot about who you were as a person. You'll be missed by many. B.J.

I am going to miss Don, as I have known him for 49 years, around Skyway Bluegrass Club and especially his dry humor while sitting beside him, and jamming with him weekly for the last 15 years. I'm really going to miss him and his playing, when I get back from Texas in April. He will always have a place in my memories.
