Eddie was a great guy, I strive to be half the man that he was. He was kind and gentle, but could be serious and stern. He always took the time to talk to me and others even though I could see that he had somewhere else to be.

Coach Eddie had a huge impact in my son Ben's life, both on the bench and off, although I'm not certain he realized. He may not have known it, so I wanted to share it with his family and friends, in tribute to the impact he had on so many people, but particularly the kids he mentored. He coached my son for three years and helped him to build confidence in himself, as well as his skill on the ice. Coach Eddie always believed in him and always told Ben to work hard, to never give up, to get out of his head (he really listened and observed the kids he coached) and to be a leader. We are forever grateful to Coach Eddie; he will always be remembered and in our hearts.

I had the pleasure of coaching a girls bantam team with Eddie for two years (4-5 yrs ago). His daughter Emily and my daughter Brynna were on that team. Eddie was always happy and upbeat. He was so very passionate about his two children and being involved with their sports. I will always remember his smile and laugh. Eddie, you will be greatly missed.

All our love and support to all your family. Our hearts ache for all of them as we see how much they are missing you. They are all so devastated without you. Life won't be the same without you Eddie. Such a great guy and so sad that we can't all laugh together again. Our Jake is heartbroken since he loved you as his coach and had so much fun with you. The boys miss you on the bench and so does Bill, he says hockey is not the same without you and never will be. More importantly, we lost such a great friend. You were taken away so suddenly and everyone is still in shock. We won't forget the moment we heard we lost you........shock and such a sinking, sick feeling of "oh my God, he's gone and we will never ever see or talk to him again". It's absolutely devastating! This life we all live is too short. We all miss you. You were just taken away too soon. May angels watch over you and all your family. We will be there for them however we possibly can. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Eddie's passing. We played Little League Baseball and went to Lake Avenue School together a number of year ago. I was unable to hold back the tears when my son called me broken hearted to let me know "Coach Eddie" died. There was a moment of just silence as I tried to accept what he had just told me and for me to find the right words to support and comfort my son who had lost a mentor, someone who taught him so many skills, helped him gain self confidence and really taught team spirit by example of his great leadership as a Coach. I started to wonder if I had shown Ed the appreciation I had for him over the years for all he had done for my son and the rest of the Team. This will be a difficult loss for so many people, from his Hockey family and friends to his personal family and friends. Detra, Emily and Jacob thank you for all of your husband/dad's time you shared with so many of our kids, he made such a difference and they are all the better for having him in their lives as their Coach. From my family to yours we offer our deepest condolences. Love and Light already sent your way.
