We remember Freeman as a great companion on the trail and in conversation; for his wonderful sense of humor; for many a good story. We, and many others who joined him on foot or on wheels, will miss him. Our best to you, his family and loved ones.

Many an outburst of laughter came from the change room of the early morning swim at Orchard Park. No one I know had a better outlook on life than Freeman even when he was ill. I enjoyed seeing him every morning in the pool and how the tales and jokes would fly. Those were good days with good memories. Farewell old friend.

My thoughts are with you all in the Andrus family.
So many warm memories of you all growing up in Winona on Seabreeze. Freeman use to call me Cinbad when i was a little girl and still called me that last time i seen him a year and a half ago. A very quick witted man for sure.
Freeman was the definition of the term "young at heart" and was a pleasure to have known him.

Associate Founding Member of the MondayRiders with Freeman, some 2½ decades ago, plus a Hiking Companion of Freeman in the Bruce Trail's Slowpokes Group. Dean Renwick has called attention to Freeman's "Quick and easy banter", an enviable attribute indeed in my book. 'Banter' is a great word that leads to ready and accessible friendships - Freeman possessed that trait in spades, thus acquiring friends galore along his chosen pathways thru life. I could speculate that Freeman, currently, is bantering with St-Peter, himself, and the two of them will get on famously together.

It is with great sadness that I read about the loss of such a kind and lovely man. He had the ability to make those around him smile regardless of any difficulties he was facing including his battle with cancer. His passing is truly a loss to us all. I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to his wife and sons and may you take condolences in the fact that he will be remembered so fondly by so many of us.

Bittersweet to learn of Freeman's passing after all of his suffering. He certainly had the rare ability to brighten up any room with his quick and easy banter. My condolences to June and the family.

Freeman was just a great guy. He always had a ready smile and a joke and was always ready with a helping hand. Despite his long struggle with cancer, he never let it get him down. He'll certainly be missed.

I haven’t seen or heard from Freeman since 1965 when I left Bell Telephone to pursue a life in California but like everyone else remember him as always jovial and upbeat. I remember when I first met him at the Bell how he made me welcome when I was transferred to Hamilton. Sorry to hear of his passing and know he will be missed.

We have fond memories of visits we had with Free and June, as well as Gerry's years of working with Freeman in the Hunter street office as well as our Labrador experience. Only regret is that we did not keep closer contact these last years. You and your family June are in our thoughts and prayers as you had to say good bye to a husband and father.
