Obituary of Naomi Louisa Berry

BERRY, Naomi Louisa (nee Hone)

Passed away peacefully with dignity on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital, Hamilton, in her 90th year. Predeceased by her parents Charles Walter Hone and Harriet Louisa Drinkwater, her five brothers, Charles, Peter, Kenneth, Paul, Edward and her beloved husband William James Berry (1997). She is survived by her sisters Patricia Taylor and Gabrielle Beatty, her children; Lorayne de Mestral (Robert), Ronald (Denise), Michael (Cathie), Ian (Carol), David (Rose), and Barry Fletcher (Olga). Naomi was a grandmother to ten grandchildren; Berry, Justin, Jordan, Nathan, Rachel, Kate, Caleb, Jane, Quinn, Josephine and great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren; Hector, Jackson, Kane, Jonah, Penelope, Massimo, Marcelo, Santino, Tiago, Pepper, James, and Alexander. The family wishes to thank the staff and palliative care team at St. Peter's Hospital for their care of Naomi. We would also like to express our gratitude to Hamilton Health Sciences and McMaster University Medical Centre and McMaster Family Practice staff for their care of Naomi over the past year. A special thanks goes out to the MAID program team, (Medical Assistance In Dying) for allowing Naomi the choice of time and place for a death with dignity surrounded by her family. Their compassion and commitment to her wishes were greatly appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place with interment in the spring of 2019 at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Boshkung Lake, Ontario. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
