Obituary of Ileen Elizabeth Fedyk
Ileen Fedyk (Carleton) (Colby)
Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. Our beautiful mother lived her life as she died, with grace, dignity, and love. Surrounded by family, Ileen left this world for heaven above. It is with profound sadness that we announce her passing on October 19, 2018. Ileen was born on July 3, 1929 in Toronto, Ontario, the second of six siblings. She was exceptional at an early age and continued to be so throughout her life. She began her career in accounting and followed her dreams and became an award winning floral designer, a nurse, and an entrepreneur. Ileen was also active member of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington from 1968 through the 1970s. She adored music and was blessed with a voice of an angel. Ileen loved the theatre, gardening, cooking, baking, and creating unique designs through flowers, and arts and crafts. However, her role as parent and grandparent is her legacy. We will always remember her beautiful heart and soul, her sparkling blue eyes and warm lovely smile. She was loved by all who had the privilege to know her. Ileen was predeceased by her husband John (2010) her son Bill (2011), and her 5 siblings and parents. Ileen is survived by her loving children, Linda Colby, Patricia Murray (Peter), Brad Fedyk (Judy) and Chris Fedyk (Debbie) and her much loved grandchildren, Zsolt (Veronica), Michael (Michelle), Stephanie (Gaby), Justin, Hailey (Steve), Lindsay (Ray), Chelsea (Amar), Andrew and Victoria, as well as 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She will also be truly missed by her daughter-in-law Bobbie, her close friend Denysa, her sister-in-law Anne Storisson and brother-in-law Greg Fedyk. We would like to thank the staff at Willowgrove Long term Care Home, especially Khobra and Rachel, for all their excellent care and support. Your kindness and respect is greatly appreciated. A mass celebrating Ileen’s life will be held at Annunciation of Our Lord Parish, 280 Limeridge Rd West, Hamilton, Ontario, October 24, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, 305 Erskine Ave, Toronto at 3 p.m. We thank you dear mom for being our mother. Such a generous heart and a gentle soul, we were indeed blessed to call you mom. We will always remember your smiles, which were plentiful and ever so welcoming right to the end of your life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimers’ Society or Royal Botanical Gardens would be appreciated. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
You be greatly missed by us all.
