Obituary of Doreen Ann Francis

FRANCIS, Doreen Ann Mom left us early on the morning of Saturday, March 2nd, sitting in her favourite chair, reading her morning paper. She was deeply loved by her daughter Kim and her husband Joe Corkery. A cherished Nana to Mike and Tim. A source of joy for her very special niece Terri (George). Predeceased by her husband, Bob Francis, that she had sadly missed for many years, and her parents George and Edith Farraway. She was rich in family, being the second youngest in a family of thirteen. Those that left before her; Irene, Albert, Earl, Shirley, Iris, Edith and Harry, and those she leaves behind; Pearl, Gloria, Bobby (Francine), Florence, Ed (Marilee). "Auntie Dodo" to many nieces and nephews, and their families. She held her friends close, and will be missed by Sharon, Phyllis, Jeanie, Fern, and her treasured sisters-in-law Mabel and Darlene (Jack). Mom was never at a loss for words. She called it as she saw it, and wore her heart on her sleeve for all the world to see. She loved the colour yellow, gardening, Giant Tiger and the occasional glass of white wine. But, it was her love and devotion to her family that carried her through life. Freinds will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow.
