FORTMAN Gertrude (Penfold) Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Stoney Creek Life Care Centre on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late William Fortman (1991). Dear mother of Jeannette (John Bozich) and Geraldine (Terry Hagan), all of Stoney Creek. Stepmother of Merle Bowyer of Binbrook. Survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Vera Purcell, Dora McKibbon. Predeceased by her stepchildren Maudie Penfold, Viola Evans, Richard Fortman and Daisy Andrew and brothers and sisters Blanche Alway, Ena Putman, Vern Penfold, Harry Penfold, Edna Berry, Clara Waite, Garnet Penfold and George Penfold. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Ave. Dr., Stoney Creek, on Thursday from 3-5, 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, March 14th at 11 a.m. Interment Tapleytown Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
