Obituary of John Edward Howard

HOWARD, John Edward

With heavy hearts we say goodbye to a kind and gentle giant, Big John, on July 7, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in his 63rd year. Best friend and loving husband of 40 years to Debbie. Will be forever in the hearts of his children, Michael (Sasha) and Lisa. Adored Papa to his 2 angels, Sydney and Ellie. Predeceased by his parents Bob and Helen Howard. Loving brother of the late Tom (Diane), the late Linda (Papa Jean), Bob, Mary, David, Carol (John), Susan (Brad). Dear brother-in-law of Jim (Carolyn) of Myrtle Beach, a place John loved to visit. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. John loved all sports, especially baseball, football, 10 pin bowling, where he was either participating as a player, coach or a helpful spectator to all. His most favourite past-time was fishing. John will be remembered as a social butterfly and someone who was always there to lend a helping hand. Special thanks to the compassionate and supportive staff of St. Peter’s Hospital, especially Freda, Janet, Ashley, Peter, Dan and Dr. Shad, CCAC, CBI and Dr. Torres. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at the Hamilton Beach Rescue Unit, 316 Beach Blvd. Hamilton, from 5-8 p.m. If you wish, donations may be made to St. Peter’s Hospital or the CAP program.
