Obituary of Bruce A. Johnstone

JOHNSTONE, Bruce A.

With broken hearts, our family has to say goodbye to the most wonderful father, brother, and friend to many. Today we announce the death of Bruce A. Johnstone, of Hamilton Ontario. On June 14th 2018, Bruce passed away suddenly at home in his 61st year.  Son of the late John Johnstone and Suzanne Mousseau, Bruce was retired from Dofasco after many years of service. He was a lover of nature, art, and music. He will be missed by his wife Maureen Johnstone (O'Connell). Predeceased by his son Aaron (2002), he will be missed beyond words by his son Justin Johnstone and his son's partner Ryan (Kilpatrick), and Aaron and Justin's mother Terry Johnstone (Kerr) and her husband Terry Kerr.  One of his favourite things in life was visiting his family out west. This is a great loss for his sisters and brothers, Gale (Morris) and her husband Fred, Mary (Baettig) and her husband Rob, John and his wife Diane, Bernice (Schonewille) and her husband John, Frank and his partner Donna, Rob and his partner Wanda, sisters-in-law, Sue Andreatta and her husband Tom, and Lisa Russell. Along with many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.  A private family viewing occurred and was followed by cremation. As per his wishes, his ashes will be spread in the Yukon in the presence of his family. A celebration of life is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at King's Forrest Golf Course, 100 Greenhill Avenue, Hamilton ON between 6 to 9 p.m., with a eulogy at 7:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Yukon Bird Observatories (www.yukonbirdobservatories.org), a non-profit organization committed to the conservation of migratory birds in western North America, something that was close to Bruce's heart.  Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
