LANGFORD, William (Bill) Thomas George

At the age of 93, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Clarion Nursing Home in Stoney Creek, Ontario. He was born on April 17, 1924, in Hamilton, Ontario.  Bill is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Bernice (nee Stopps), his daughter Christine (Ray), and sons Peter and Matthew (Janet), grandchildren: Kristy (Eric), Lisa (Jaret), Nathan (Dawn), Shawn, Jeremy (Lois), Noelle (Craig), and Matt and his great-grandchildren: Dakota, Riley, Mykaela, Ezra, Silas, Kaia, Ruby, Annika and Coen.  He was predeceased by his siblings: Lillian (Jack) Davis, Jack (Sheila) Langford, and Lorie (Art) Tattrie.  Bill was a morse code operator in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He worked at Westinghouse Canada in Hamilton for 40 years. In his retirement, he learned how to play the organ, was a member of an organ club, a ballroom dance club, played in a ukulele band at Sackville Hill Seniors Centre and was a vocal soloist for the band. He also played guitar, banjo, piano and harmonica.  A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, Ontario, at 11 a.m.
