Obituary of Nancy Mary Meyer

MEYER, Nancy Mary (nee Everett)

Nancy passed peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Monday, April 2, 2018, in her 85^th year.  Beloved wife for 46 years of John T. Meyer.  Predeceased by parents Herbert and Mary Everett, her sister Eunice Coates, brothers Edward Everett (Beryl) and Thomas Everett (Jessie) of Toronto.  She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and sister-in-law.  Although Nancy didn’t have children, as a teacher she taught and influenced many children from 1953 to 1988 in Toronto, Stoney Creek and Hamilton.  She had many interests including the Spiritualist religion, painting, sewing, needle crafts, breeding Shelties and knitting. In retirement, Nancy and John wintered at their Florida property for a number of years.  She remained active in the community as a member of card clubs, bowling leagues, dancing and teaching computer classes. Nancy loved adventure, and with John, she traveled around the world. The family will receive visitors at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Service to follow at 1:30 p.m. followed by a reception . Private family interment.
