SHARP, Douglas Alexander
Doug passed away at Juravinski Hospital on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in his 94th year. Loving husband to his sweetheart Norma (Ferguson) for 68 years. Missed by his children Wayne (Carol), Debra and Linda. Grandfather to Leigh (Russell) Clark, Oriana (Darren) Gowing, Bronwyn and great-grandfather to Avery, Breein, Kelsey, Connor, Mackenzie, twins Autumn and Edana, Aidan and Cassidy. Predeceased by parents Robert Sharp and Margaret (Buchanan), brother Robert and sister Gertrude (Cutts). Doug had many happy family memories fishing at his cabin in Longlac, ON and winters in Sun City, AZ. He started his career as a stone cutter for Sharp Cut Stone, later he owned and operated Sharp Monuments with his wife, until their retirement. Doug had an avid interest in politics, serving as Reeve of Stoney Creek in the 1960's. Member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years. The family would like to thank Extendicare and Dundurn House, for their compassionate care. As per Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received to celebrate Doug’s life at the Donald V.
