Obituary of Helen Josephine Krick

KRICK, Helen Josephine (nee Smart)

Peacefully, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in her 94th year. Predeceased by her loving husband George (2011) of 64 years, son Brian (2005) and daughter-in-law Barb (2017). Loving mother of Martha Huffman (Drew), Dianne Bender (Bill) and Joan Cranston (Doug). Will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Brent (Ryan) and Peter (Carolyn) Huffman, Michael (Laura) and Brian (Julie) Bender, Krista (Justin) Laposi and James (Melissa) Cranston, and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Ethan, Kensington, Abigail, Charlotte, Milly, Harvey and Franklin. Helen was well known for her wonderful award-winning quilts, many of which are cherished by her beloved family and friends. She will be remembered as a proud farmer’s wife and for her absolute love of family. Special thanks to the doctors at the Juravinski Hospital and for the care and compassion in her final journey from Dr. Bev and the nursing staff at St. Peter’s Hospital. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Tapleytown Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter’s Hospital or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
