Obituary of Shirley Janet Ann Bourdon
BOURDON, Shirley Janet Anne (nee McIntosh)
June 26, 1934 – February 11, 2018
After a most valiant fight, Shirley passed away in her 84th year at the Hamilton General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late John Bourdon (2011) for 58 years. Loving mother of Cheryl Glover (Dennis), Denielle Brennan (Bob) and Michelle Fleury (Pete). Cherished by grandchildren John, Joe, Alicia and Nicole Fleury; Carl, Damian, Danny Glover and Cheri Thornton and by 14 beautiful great-grandchildren. Predeceased by granddaughters Jacqueline Brennan (2003) and by newborns Jennifer and Adrianna Brennan (1991). Shirley enjoyed her time as a lunchroom supervisor with the HWDSB. Mom was always up for a bingo, a movie, a drive, shopping and most of all her donut and coffee. Always a girly girl with hair styled, make up on and dressed in the latest fashions. Thank you for the excellent care from Family Physician, Dr. F. Caronzo and in past years from Vascular Surgeon, Dr. J. Tittley. Special thanks to neighbours, Kathy and Anna and to the Local Health Integration Network. Your kindness and support helped mom to achieve her goal to continue to live in the home she shared with dad. Mom, your passing marks the end of your generation in our family and you will be forever loved and missed. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Shirley’s life will take place on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment to follow at Bayview Mausoleum, Burlington. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left online at www.donaldvbrown.ca
