Obituary of Virginia Marie Allega-Di Sanza

ALLEGA-Di SANZA, Virginia Marie

Peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in her 57th year. Beloved wife of Tony for 31 years. Loving mother of Gregory and Kevin. Cherished daughter of Livia and the late Virgilio Allega. Much loved sister of Rossano and Gloria Allega, sister-in-law of Mike and Carm Di Sanza, Rosanna and Rocco Bonaventura. Dear niece of many aunts and uncles.  Dear aunt of Giuliana, David, Olivia, Adrian, Michael and David. Daughter-in-law of Clara and the late Enio Di Sanza. Will also be lovingly remembered by her many cousins. Special appreciation to her dear friends Angela Leone-Camilleri and Loriann Pacenti. Virginia will be remembered for her infectious laugh and love of family. She loved family gatherings, special occasions and had a passion for cuisine, baking, music, art and travel. She also had a long dedicated elementary school teaching career and a passion for education. Special thanks to Dr. Beverley Hattersley and the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital, Juravinski Oncology Department, especially Dr. Torres and Dr. Whitton, and Dr. Algird and staff at Hamilton General Hospital. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Winona, on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Ancaster.
