SERRA, Nicola

Passed away peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, October 15, 2017 in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Angela (nee Bellucci) for 53 years. Devoted father of Cesare, Maria, Achille (Karen), Pietro (Allison), Giovanni (Gina), Domenico (Tanya) and Assunta. Cherished Nonno of ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Will be greatly missed by his sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and many friends in Canada, Europe and South Africa. Nicola retired from Arcelor Mittal/Dofasco with over 20 years of service. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of The Assumption Parish on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of The Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Toronto Sick Kids Liver Transplant Unit or the Children’s Wish Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
