PATEY, Roy

Peacefully at home, on September 8, 2017, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Mildred, with whom he laughed and loved for 47 years. Best dad ever to Darrin (Tracy) and Jody (BJ), who he taught to marvel at the simple things, to go about the day in an inventive and creative way and to always make room for foolishness. Incredibly proud Poppy to Finn, Tabitha and Watson. Predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth and in-laws Robert and Beulah and brother Lester. Much loved brother to Shirley (Ed), Pat (the late Terry), Belle, Glenn (Bonnie) and sister-in-law Elsie. He was a treasured brother-in-law to Eileen, Greta, Don, Audrey, Max, Edward, Ruby and Shawn and their families. Loved by Aunt Blanche, so many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends he's made along the way. Special thanks to everyone who has helped in any way and to the Juravinski Cancer Team, everyone from CCAC, especially Grace, and the amazing folks at the Cancer Assistance Program (C.A.P) in Hamilton. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to C.A.P. or Food 4 Kids Hamilton would be appreciated.
