Obituary of Marion Jean Duff

DUFF, Marion Jean

March 4, 1944 – June 27, 2017

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marion Jean Duff on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.   Predeceased by her parents Vera (1972) and John (1989), sister to Jack and devoted aunt to Debbie (Andrew), Wendy, Joanne (Roman) and John (Rebecca). She will also be missed by her great-nieces, Hillary, Meagan, Caitlin, Holly, Emily, Jenna, Anna, Jessica, Lillian, and Catherine and great-nephew, Alex.  She faced her fight against cancer with courage, dignity and strength.  A graduate of McMaster University and Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), Marion retired in 2009 from her position as Senior Mediation Specialist with Aviva Canada. Marion loved to travel and was always active in her community. She served as Chair of Binbrook-Blackheath United Church Pastoral Charge Official Board, Kenya Mission Chair, Blackheath Elder and Secretary of the Ministry and Personnel Committee, President of the Lady Hamilton Club, and President of the Phase IV Twenty Place Condominium Board.  Visitation will take place at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday, June 30 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 1 from 11-1 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. at  Blackheath United Church, 2320 Haldibrook Rd., Binbrook. Private family interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Blackheath United Church.
