Suddenly, at the Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Beloved husband of Joy for 58 years on June 24. Devoted father of Lynn Cathcart (David), Mark (Cathy), Lisa Lombardo (Vince) and Michael (Bonnie). Dear brother of the late Bill Strecker (Helene), Elizabeth Solowonuik (Harold), Chester Strecker (Elaine). Caring grandfather of Nicole (Josh), Michelle (Johnnie), Antonella (Domenic), John (Nicole), Hayley (Brad), Laurel (Brandon), Jessica, Brayden, Angelica (Tyler), Brandon, Vincenzo, Jamie and Joey. Cherished great-grandfather of Valentine, Launi, Vincenzo, Lucia and Baby Stribbell. Dear Godfather of Erik and Steven. John was a retired machinist of J. I. Case/International Harvester, an avid fisherman and mentor. John’s wishes were for a private cremation which has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V.
