Obituary of Robert Lee Slattery
SLATTERY ,Robert Lee
December 1935 – June 2017
It’s my time to go home. My life here on Earth has been great! I’ve had the love of two of God’s most precious; my first wife Rose who before she got sick gave me eight wonderful years and our two sons. Also, my incredible wife Heather since 1987. I will now revisit Rose, Ray and others who have predeceased me. Now to those I leave behind. Heather my wife, my friend, my caretaker, my everything; You have my love, respect, admiration and have made me very happy. We will be together forever when that time comes. My sons Bob (Chris) and Rick; I have loved you both since you were born. You are not only my kids, but also my very best male pals. I count on you both to stay close to your step-mom. She and I have been together everyday since 1984 and its going to be very hard for her. My step-daughter Tammy, our grandchildren; Jennifer (Nick), Whitney, Samantha, Krysta (Jake), Jeff, Nate and Haley and great grandchildren; Matty, Kyle, Isabella, Matthew and `Baby Smith`. Others I will miss are Bev and Ray, Kathy, Joanne, Lynny and Dave, Jan and Linda, Bernie and Brenda (that is the first time I have called Barney – Bernie) and my friends Scoop, Jean, Pat, Brian, Nick, Ted, Bob, Tom and many others. I think my daily companions Ming and Barney will be confused, but they will receive love and solace from Heather and she will benefit the same from them. I will miss you bunches as you complete our little family. When mommy and daddy come home you meet us with wagging tails, warmth and entertainment. Some other luck I’ve had is my job. Retired National Sales Manager April 10, 1981 and sat on both “Distillers Council of Canada” and “Imported Wines Council”. After retirement I had many positions for which I have been honoured such as Stoney Creek Citizen of the Year 1997, receiving both The Queen’s Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee Medals and more. I am also a 99 percentile member of Mensa Canada. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday, June 16th and Saturday, June 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of my life will be held at Stoney Creek Legion Branch 622 at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice would be appreciated. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
Hope you make it. I’ll be looking for you!
So long – Love Bob
