Obituary of Joseph Edmond

EDMOND, Joseph

Peacefully, at Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, June 11, 2017 is his 93rd year.  Loving husband of the late Florence Edmond.  Beloved companion of Joyce Porter.  Cherished father of John Celestin, Joseph Patrick Jr. and his wife Gail, James Martin and the late Jerry.  Devoted grandfather of Valerie Tait, Sadie Edmond and great-grandfather of Jordan, Abigail, Brianna and Austin VanderMolen.  Survived by his brothers in Nova Scotia.  Joe worked in the coke ovens as a millwright for over 36 years with Stelco.  He served with valour in Sicily, Italy and The Netherlands as bombardier in artillery.  Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.  Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Hamilton General Hospital would be appreciated.  Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca.
