I'm truly sorry for loss of such a wonderful man. I wish that i would have known of his passing so that i could have paid my respects. Mr. Florio was a large part of my youth through his teaching and mentoring me in the art of boxing at the york place boxing club in the late 70's. I often think of him and the respect i feel for Rudy will always remain ingrained in my heart. The world needs more people like Mr. Florio. In my heart and soul for ever. RIP Rudy and get the gloves ready for when we meet again because im sure you have more to teach me. Your friend and student of life Brad Robson. Ps: say hello to Brian my brother and Mr. Garlash my other mentor.

Hi Bradley, I am Daniella Monaco, Rudy's grandaughter, thank you for the kind words in remembering him. He loved boxing and he had a passion for training at York Place. I can recall attending the boxing matches, as a child to support him. At 99 he stilled loved to tell stories of York Place. He really enjoyed it!
