My sincere condolences to the family on Stevens passing. He was an amazing person and always a bright light. I did not know him for long but his passing has affected me daily since he left us. I too suffer from mental illness and understand where he was...know though tragic his death is not in vain and he will always be fondly remembered as someone who was a ray of light in a dark path to many.
i wish we could have helped him more like he helped so many.

Steven I will alway remember our amazing laughed filled times together. Tears running down our faces just like the time in Cuba when you insisted on taking a bus tour of the city. You sat beside an open window as the bus drove along it kept hitting bushes with big flowers as the pollen whipped up your face because red and swollen with tears running down your face and mine with laughter. To show how much you "enjoyed" the tour you never moved. I will never forget you. I miss you so.

I am in shock to hear of Steven's passing. My sympathy and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time.
Steven was the first person who welcomed me when I started my job at Goodwill and he remained a loving and supportive force throughout my time there.

I met Steven a few weeks ago while on vacation in Dominican Republic. We shared quite a few laughs, drinks, and stories over the short time I met him. He was so full of life and smiles and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family and friends in this dark time, and will be for many days to come. I hope that the memory of him and his laugh brings you some small amount of comfort. I'm so sorry.

I'm am so sad to hear this tragic news. Steven was such a sweet and light-hearted man with a smile that could light up any room. He was one of the first people who welcomed me to my new role at Goodwill and was always such a support to me and my team. The world was a better place because of him and he will be dearly missed.
The LGBTQ community has lost another one of our couragous brothers. Thank you for everything you did to make this world a safer more welcoming place for all of us.

Steve and I met a decade ago in Hamilton when we moved in the same social circles. Losing touch with him after that is something I'll always regret because I remembered him so fondly. Flashing forward to very recently, I spotted Steve in Toronto walking up the street and he saw me too. To have that moment back I wish it had played out differently. I would have turned the other way to catch up with him and properly reconnect, offer him my friendship again and pressure him to accept it (in a kind way of course). I mourn the lost opportunity to be a friend to Steve again in this earthly realm. My deepest condolences go to the Curic family.

Steven was a good friend to my children Stephanie, Andrew and Kyle, and Jaclyn. Whenever he came over to our house he always had a smile and made us laugh. Steven, we met 12 years ago and since then I've always known you to be quick with a joke, a smile and a laugh. It was always apparent when you left the room as it never felt as full. It's been a shock, coming to visit home will never be as energized and there will be very obvious missing laughter and amazing last minute plans and ideas! Even though I moved away to BC and we didn't see each other hardly as often, I still loved the geeking out we had over Star Trek and of course seeing you as recently as my trip home earlier this year. You'll be missed, I still can't believe it... :'(
