Obituary of George William Hamilton

HAMILTON, George William May 8, 1928 – February 18, 2017 It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on February 18th, 2017 with his family by his side in his 89th year. George will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 68 years, Dorothy with whom he shared a wonderful active life and a very loving family. He will always be cherished by his children the late Bill (Ann), Bruce (Nancy), Beverley, Bob (Jean), his grandchildren Stacey, Jennifer (Dan), Lesley, Ian and great-grandchildren Kate, Grayson and Emery. Much loved brother to the late Frank (Jeannie), Ron (the late Velma), Gary (Dolores), sister-in-law Clara and all his nieces and nephews. George worked at Stelco for 38 years and retired from the Nanticoke plant enjoying 34 great years of retirement. George was an avid golfer and bowler and will surely miss the greens and the alleys. George was also a coach of the 1962 Stoney Creek Little League All-Star team and will miss seeing all the guys at the annual golf tournament. Hit them long and straight Dad, we’ll see you on the 19th hole. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to say thank you to all the Dr.’s and nurses of F-3 ICU at the Juravinski Hospital for their unwavering support and care for George and the family during this difficult time.
