To Bill's family
I was shocked to see this as I was researching information on my mother. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. My mother was always pleased to see both Bill and Bob at various events. After many years, I connected with Bill at a barn dance out Dunnville way with his sister Yolanda. I was the drummer with the Bazil Young Band. The last time I heard from Bill was after his mother passed on. He sent me a nice letter thanking me for thinking of them at their difficult time and how proud he was on the many accomplishments I have made in my life.
Bill was a class act and I am very sorry that I did not attend his celebration of life.

A few months ago Chuck and I decided to visit Binbrook United Church to "catch up" with Rev. Pat!
As Chuck was parking our car, a neat truck pulled in beside us. Out jumped the driver, Bill Horvath who gave us a great welcome.
We have known Bill ever since 1957 through teaching at the same school.
Bill guided us into the church where we met Barbara after the service. It was great reminiscing over tea and coffee!
To Barbara and family, we pass along our very sincere condolences at this sad time.

Even though I didnt know him I felt I did through hearing all those funny and poignant "Bill" stories you would tell when your nursing friends were together. He will be so missed but leaves behind an amazing legacy of a good man who always gave back. My love and thoughts are with you. Elinor Wilson "Bask"

My late husband, Lane Hazlewood was a member of the Men Teachers' Choir for many years and knew Bill well. I know he would have wanted me to express sincere condolences to Bill's family. It is sad to see so many of the choir members leaving us. I have many fond memories of the concerts they gave at this time of year, especially the ones at Westfield Pioneer Village. Hopefully those warm, happy memories will be of comfort to you now as you grieve for Bill's passing.
With deep sympathy, Kathryn

Dear Barb and Family - I was so sad to see of Bill's passing in the paper. I met Bill at Seneca School when I was 17 and working as his secretary. Bill and Ian M. came to my husband Tom's visitation in 2004. I was so very happy to see them both. My husband coached John in lacrosse before he passed. Bill and I worked together for 7 years and being so young, he was very kind and always such a gentle man. I will always be so grateful for his help and understanding during those first years I was working. I still have the 7 china roses he gave me when he left the school. He said "7 roses for 7 years. I know he will be truly missed by you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you. xo

Yes, Bill will be missed. He could always be counted on to give us a few words of wisdom or to say grace on short notice before one of our Mutual meals. He was proud of his nickname Father Bill.

Barb and family, Sylvie and I offer our deepest condolences. I have many fond memories of my time with Bill when he served on the OMIA board. He was the most positive person I’ve ever known. Bill had the unique ability to be caring, understanding and empathetic while always being a strong and respected leader. We travelled many miles together when he chaired the board and had lots of memorable discussions about football, family and life in general. I’m honoured to have known Bill.

From 1969--1973, I was a teacher at Seneca School, in Hamilton. The school was brand new with a young staff and Bill was our principal. In those four years the school expanded to overflowing with ten portable classrooms on the playground and two classes in the gym. It was challenging for all the teachers, but we had a great time working under Bill's leadership. He was patient, full of good humour, a wonderful educator and so kind to every teacher and student. He was such a positive person and always took time to support, encourage and recognize his staff.
Several years later I was in hospital. Bill heard about this and called after visitors' hours one evening. He asked if it was too late to call and I said, "No it is a perfect time, because it is rather lonely after people leave." After that he called me every night to chat, until I was released from hospital.
My deepest sympathy is sent to Bill's family. Christmas this year will be difficult for all of you. May the true meaning of Christmas, the peace, hope and love be with you.

Dear family....
I was saddened to read of the passing of your dear loved one and I send my deepest heartfelt condolences.
"Mr. Horvath" was my teacher the first year that Westmount Secondary school opened...he was a much loved teacher to all of his students.
I recognized his face in the paper without even reading the obituary.
I'm seventy years old myself now...and don't have many school photos of teachers, but the funny thing is I have one of your husband/dad/grandpa from 1962 when he accompanied the class on a trip.
He was our class home room teacher. All I can remember is that he was a favourite...always gentle and with a shy smile.
God Bless his soul and may he rest in peace.
Blessings to the family at this difficult time...please know that others care.
Sincerely, Diannia Shepherd
