Obituary of Estella Bertha MacDonald

MacDONALD, Estella Bertha (Marks) It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Estella on December 1, 2016 at Wentworth Heights Retirement Home. Estella was predeceased by Duncan, her husband of 63 years on December 31, 2010. Estella was born to Hiram and Lena (nee Hornibrook) at Miscou Harbour, NB on February 23, 1928. Left to mourn her passing, are her daughters, Bonnie (Bill) Campbell, Charlene (Pat) Duggan and son, Keith (Traci) of Calgary. Dear Granny to Elayne (Darren) Linn, Ian Campbell (deceased 2006), Breanne (Dan) Schaefer, Sean Duggan, Lauren MacDonald and Emily (Dallas) Seutter. Beloved Nana, to Mason, Tyler, Braeden and Merrick. She will be sadly missed by her sister Eunice (Gord) Christmas and brother, Ralph (Marion deceased) Mark, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Estella was a great follower of world events, and was gifted with a sharp mind and wit. She was a wonderful homemaker, avid gardener and bird lover. She also worked outside the home as an office bookkeeper. She had a quiet disposition, loved tradition and kept up with family genealogy. She never missed the North of 49 Crossword and loved her daily visits to Tim’s. Estella and Duncan enjoyed many, many years of travel and especially loved their winter home in Dunedin, Florida. She will be dearly missed as matriarch of our family and forever loved. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. Donations in Estella’s memory, in lieu of flowers, to: MADD Canada or the charity of your choice, are sincerely appreciated.
