I grew up playing hockey with Cody. It's honestly hard to think of a teammate I have a fonder memory of. He always had the ability to put smiles on faces, and warm the heart of those around him. To Cody's family and friends,
We were so sorry to hear about Cody's passing. We remember him fondly from when our son used to play hockey with him, We were not the typical hockey family but Cody was so friendly and outgoing that he helped to make us feel that we were really a part of the team and that we belonged there. Even after all this time has passed, Emmett would run into Cody out in the community and they would remember each other fondly. This happened just last week and Emmett never thought it would be the last time he would see Cody. This still isn't sinking in. He was such an awesome person, and he had this ability of brightening any room he walked into. I remember elementary school and karate classes with him, he was just always making everyone laugh. I remember he once stood up for me when I was being made fun of for my name when we were in grade 1 or 2. He was just such an amazing soul, taken way too soon.

I had the privilege of having Cody as Co-Op student in a child care program. I was deeply saddened to hear of his death. I send my sincerest condolences to his parents, siblings, family and friends.
