After a long and courageous battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tom at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on October 24, 2016, at the age of 75. Cherished husband for 48 years and best friend of Louise (Morelli). Devoted father to Kelly Andor and the light of his life his granddaughter, Daniella. Beloved son of the late Steve and Valerie Hmiel. Predeceased by Ted (Shirley) and Jeanette Beasley (Brooke). Tom will be sadly missed by brothers Steve (Diane), Hank (Doreen), Stanley (Liz) and sister Valerie. Predeceased by father-in-law and mother-in-law Louis and Laura Morelli and brother-in-law Carlo Morelli. He will be lovingly remembered by Solly Morelli, Rosalie (Larry) Murphy, Jeanette Morelli and Don (Diane) Morelli. Tom will be missed by his many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly and who were a very important part of his life. Tom was a proud employee of Stanley Steel (CMP) for 47 years and was loved by all. Tom loved his old timers hockey, baseball, bowling, golfing and above all else Elvis and his Maple Leafs. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, and most of all his brandy which he shared with all of his family and friends. Special thanks to his devoted caregivers from CCAC, Dr. Goffin and Nurse Victoria. Family will receive friends at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Wednesday, October 26 from 3:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
