Obituary of Oran Frederick Burpee

BURPEE, Oran Frederick “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” Ephesians 5:22-23 Surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the age of 94, Oran was taken to be with His Lord and Saviour. Beloved husband of Lemke. Dearly loved father of Terry (Cecile), Judy (Wayne), Heather (David). Dear father-in-law of Mary. Predeceased by his son Neil (1977) and his beloved wife Marion (1996). Cherished grandpa of Linda (Wayne), Gary, Charmaine, Colette (Todd), Cheryl, Dwayne (Aimee), Jennifer (Ron), Philip (Debbie). Dear brother-in-law of Harry and Lammy, Catherine, Henny and Richard. Stepfather of John (Nadene), Linda (Art) and Harvey. Devoted grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather to many who loved him dearly. He will be sadly missed by his many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Oran was a faithful servant of the Lord. He served his country for four years for the rights we enjoy today. Oran was also a loyal employee of Stelco for 35 years. He was faithful in serving others until the last few months of his life. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at West Highland Church, 1605 Garth St., Hamilton on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Binbrook Baptist Cemetery.
