I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband and father, Gord. He was always a gentleman and he usually had a funny story to tell whenever we met. It has been so long since John coached the boys, but I still remember the fun times that we had. Your family will be in my prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I'm also sorry to have missed the visitation where I would have been pleased, although sorrowfully, to see you all again. Mister Golding, as I always respectfully addressed him as, will be sadly missed by all, I'm sure. When my dad passed away in 2005, I came across the following poem that brought me comfort - I hope it does the same for you.
Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

To Gords Family: We both so enjoyed getting to know your father. Knowing him through the seniors and also the many visits he had at our home. We both enjoyed the ribbing we gave each other, and his sense of humour. He was a very loving husband to your Mom. We often spoke of Joan, and his care for her. We met her briefly at he BBQ and she seemed like a wonderful lady. I know we will miss him at our seniors. He was a delight to have around even though he had a stubborn side also. We are praying for you as a family as you go though this sad time.
