Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Paterson

PATERSON, Margaret (nee Kenney) October 16, 1934 – September 7, 2016 “Absent from the body, present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8) Suddenly, but peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Margaret Elizabeth Paterson departed this life into the arms of her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, on September 7, 2016. Marg will be dearly missed by Bill, her husband of 55 years; her children, Ian and Pauline (Allan); and her three granddaughters, Leigh, Abby, and Ashley. She will be fondly remembered by childhood friends in Sault Ste. Marie, a wonderful community in Hamilton, and a lifetime of friends in South Africa, where she and Bill spent 34 years as missionaries. She will remembered for her laughter, her gentle and kind spirit, and her delicious Ambrosia Salad. Sincere thanks to Dr. Ingram, Dr. Archibald and Dr. Damji for their care over many years. A special thanks to the dedicated nurses and staff of the Nephrology Department on the 7th floor at St. Joe’s for their kindness and compassion. Visitation will take place at Philpott Memorial Church on September 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Philpott Building Fund or SIM Canada, would be greatly appreciated.
