I am very saddened by this terrible loss of a wonderful, bright and endearing young woman. She was my friend, and a fellow ski patroller. I was just getting to know her better and we had made plans to ski together this winter. She was a rising star in ski patrol, not afraid to stand up and lead the way. My sincerest condolences are sent to you Kevin and all of your and Alison's family and friends. There are no words that can express the sudden remorse and feeling I felt upon first receiving the news about Alison's tragic accident. From what I know about Alison she was a bright, generous, intelligent, and unique personality woman. Although she is no longer physically here with us, her kind soul will always live in the memories of those who knew her. She was definitely taken from our world far too young and soon, and will be missed by many. I hope that, despite how unfair it may feel, you and everyone will one day find a sense of comfort and serenity knowing that her spiritual soul will forever remain around you and always live on. My dear Kevin, I remember the first time Alison came to St. John Ambulance on Upper Wellington and you introduced us. Oh my, you were beaming. I could have told you that day, you had met your soul mate, although you wouldn't have believed me. After you and Alison exchanged your wedding vows, you asked me what I thought of your vows. They were beautiful, they were you and Alison, they were perfect. Hold on to those memories Kevin, the funny little things Alison said or did, her beautiful smile, the things you two did together, the alone times, the special times. These are the things that will help you get through this horrible time. Just remember too, you have friends who love you and care about you, let our strengths help you.

Alison and I were classmates and friends at UW; she was a singular individual, one of the most unique people I've known. As I think back on the times we spent together, be it white water rafting on the Ottawa river, working on our 4th year Modern Piano design project, or just waiting for class to start, I can't believe she's gone.
