Very sorry to hear of Uncle Paul's passing. Although I didn't know him very well, he always reminded my of my own Grandpa who passed too early in life. A generation of Bering boys is gone. Hopefully the generations of us that follow can live up to the examples set by these fine men.

We lost our uncle Paul yesterday, the last of my Bering uncles. John, Joe, Peter, Anton, Larry and now Paul; brothers, all now gone but never forgotten. I would think they were quite the crew in their younger years.
Some of the things I remember most about uncle Paul;
His generosity - Christmas’ when I was a little kid growing up on the farm. Mom and dad didn’t have a lot of extra cash in those days and I distinctly remember uncle Paul dropping of a John Deere riding tractor one year and a wonderful electric train set another that he and my Dad set up while we slept. Uncle Paul was very good to us and never refused to help any of us when asked.
His creativity - When he built the “Green Hornet” from an old German Isetta and left it for us to ride around on. Surely I think he must have dreaded coming to the farm on Sundays, because we were almost always there impatiently waiting for him to fix something we had broke on it.
His resourcefulness - He and my dad building a forklift out of an old John Deere Model M tractor and many other projects they did together. He was always an excellent source for creative problem solving. He could always find a way to salvage just about anything.
His thriftiness - Trying to get either him or my Dad to part with just about anything I considered scrap.
His sense of humour - The many, many stories of his experiences, most with some very humorous twist. His jokes, and he always seemed to have lots for every occasion.
His smile and his laugh.
I will miss you uncle Paul.
To Aunt Mary, Tom, Jeff, Joe and Mary Lou, and all of the grandchildren, please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss.

We are so sorry to lose Uncle Paul. Our thoughts and prayers are for all of Uncle Paul's family. Uncle Paul was always there if you needed him. He was always interested in you and what was happening in your life. He always had some encouraging words and a joke to pick you up. If you didn't laugh at the joke, his laughter was enough to get you laughing with him.
His sayings will never leave us. When asked how things were going he would say "could be worse but it is hard to imagine how". Or if you told him he looked good he would say "Just like an old car; you wonder how it could look so good and run so bad".
Being a twin to dad, he had has always reminded me (Tim) of dad since dad died. But he was no identical twin either and we always had to laugh at their differences. Uncle Paul never lost his temper; he only got frustrated and rarely too. If he didn't know how something worked (and that was rare) he knew how to figure it out. If he had something that you needed it was yours. He was the last boy of his family and a big loss to all the Bering family. He will always be in our memories though; never far from our heart.

Thinking of all of you. It is so sad to hear of the loss of dear Uncle Paul. He was a good man and held a special place in our hearts, as dad's twin and the kind unle (brother-in-law) that he was. Our prayers and hearts go out to you. He was a very special, kind soul who has left an lasting impression in many hearts. We pray the memories and strong love he had for each of you will carry you forward. We hope you know we care and are here for you too.
Much Love,
Pauline, Wendy and Patrick Bering
