Obituary of Mihaly "Mike" Vendel

VENDEL, Mihaly (Mike) - December 18, 1926-April 5, 2016. It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Mihaly Vendel at St. Joseph’s Hospital on April 5th. Beloved husband of Erzsebet (Elizabeth) for 61 years. Loving father of Magda Gold and her husband Kim. Cherished Papa of Michael Gold of Ottawa, Kathryn Enders and her husband Jason, and Jeffrey Gold of Tokyo. Also survived by his sister, Margit and her family in Hungary. Mike was a retired employee of Stelco with over 30 years of service. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. In Mike’s memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
