Obituary of Robert Allen Lapp

LAPP, Robert Allen February 8, 1929 – April 1, 2016 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) age 87, peacefully at Ian Anderson House, Oakville .Loving husband of Shirley. Beloved father of Christine (Jan), Douglas (Janet), Cynthia (Glen). Cherished papa to Derek (Amy), Lindsay, Sean, Corey, Melanie and great grand-father to Savannah, Teo and Zoë. Also survived by his sister Shirley McGovern. Predeceased by sisters Joan Daly and Mary-lou Grant, and son-in-law Vince Gresko. Bob’s passing will be greatly felt by his extended family and many friends. Bob will always be fondly remembered as a gentlemen with a great love for his family. Throughout his life Bob enjoyed many interests. In his earlier years he played tenor saxophone with the Jack Ryan Orchestra. He was an avid Blue Jays and Ti-Cat fan and loved going fishing with the grand children. In recent times, he looked forward to Friday afternoons with the “Lunch Bunch” The family is grateful for the compassionate care Bob received. Special thanks to family doctor Dr. Al Alipio. Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Helen Pyle and all the amazing staff and volunteers at Ian Anderson House. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday, April 4, 2016 2 -5p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ian Anderson House Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
