Obituary of Mary Evelyn Carey

CAREY, Mary Evelyn (nee Walker) Peacefully at Ridgeview LTC on Monday, March 7, 2016, in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late Pat Carey. Loving mother of deceased children, Janie, Cathy and Tommy Williams. Much loved sister to Dorothy Britenfield (deceased), Marg Clement, Ruby Hrynuik, Irene Woodruff, brothers, Les, Jim Walker and his wife Shirley. Stepmother to Lori Robinson (deceased) and her husband Tom Baxter, and Steve Carey. Step grandmother to Jess, Carly and the late Chelsie. Also survived by great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Former wife to Clifford Williams (deceased) and Ernie Stanfield. Mary was an avid roller-skater and also enjoyed swimming and spent many winters in Florida with husband Pat. Special thanks to Reverend Ralph Lepore and the staff at Ridgeview LTC. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Stoney Creek Baptist Church (corner of Collegiate Ave. and Gray Road) on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. In Mary’s memory, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
