Obituary of Julius Kohl

KOHL, Julius Passed suddenly at his home in York, surrounded by his family, on March 8, 2016 in his 82nd year. Dear father of Christine (Bernie) Poole, Heidi (Mike) DiBacco, Monika (Tony) Coppo and Jonathan Banaitis. He also leaves his three grandchildren; Darryl (Rheanna) Poole, Grace DiBacco, Carter Coppo and great-grandchild Cohen Poole. He will also be missed by his sister Theresia (Robert) Bursch (Austria) and brothers Erich Kohl and Helmut Kohl (Austria). Beloved friend of Gigi Banaitis. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews in Canada and Austria. Predeceased by his parents Julius and Julia Kohl, son Erich Kohl and siblings Anna Polsterer, Friedrich Kohl, Margarete Howell and Werner Kohl. Born April 7, 1934 in Poppendorf Austria. He immigrated to Canada in 1954. Then in 1962 he started his own business, J.K. Counter Tops and continuously worked until his passing. Anyone who worked with him knew his reputation of being an honest, trustworthy and hardworking businessman. Over the years, he developed strong friendships with his customers; some would say he was a father figure, or a brother to them. Others would say, he taught them everything they know today. His passion for his business and for his work was unprecedented by all who knew him. He was the kind of man that stood out in a crowd, was never known for being politically correct, was often stubborn but had a big heart. Cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held. In his memory, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
