Obituary of Muriel Joyce Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, Muriel Joyce (nee Bradt) Passed away peacefully, at Ridgeview Long Term Care Facility on Friday, February 19, 2016. Beloved wife of William Bellingham for 63 years. Dearly loved mother of Marni (Rick), Joe (Lubi), Mark and Mary (Michael). She will be forever cherished by her 6 grandchildren and missed by the 3 great-grandchildren she never knew. Loving sister of Beatrice Bradt and predeceased by sisters Phyllis and Margaret. Muriel was born on the family farm in North Cayuga on October 4, 1929. She graduated from Cayuga High School and entered into the nursing program at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Muriel graduated in the class of 1950 and became an RN, working as a nurse for several years until raising 4 children became her passion. With the children grown, she decided to take a job with Butler Building in Burlington, and enjoyed many years working in the engineering office. Upon retirement, Muriel treasured summers at the cottage on Kawagama Lake in Haliburton with family and friends, and enjoyed the winters in Fountain Hills, Arizona, until overtaken by Alzheimer’s. She has spent the last 14 years in the excellent care of the staff at Ridgeview. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Stoney Creek United Church, 1 King St. W. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 11 a.m. In desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
